Minneapolis resident Zachary King committed no crime, and did nothing to provoke the police — yet a thugscrum of roughly a half-dozen of Minneapolis’s “Finest” threw him to the ground, beat him severely, and then jailed him without charge because one of them saw that he was carrying a licensed handgun.
King, who has a concealed carry permit, was walking to his car in downtown Minneapolis the evening of Father’s Day when an officer noticed a bulge in King’s waistband.
“I have my conceal and carry, and it’s my gun,” King recounted to local CBS affiliate WCCO. “And soon as I said that he grabbed me by my neck, slammed me against the wall, snatched my gun out the holster, started waving it in the air saying ‘gun, gun, gun.’”
Within seconds, King was surrounded by a mob of armed tax-feeders.
Despite the fact that he had done nothing to provoke anybody’s suspicion, or exhibited any behavior that could be classified as “contempt of cop,” he continues, “four other officers just came and slammed me on my face, one of the officers had me by my head just banging it on the sidewalk.”
This apparently isn’t the first time King has been abused by the Minneapolis Police: Last April he was arrested and jailed without charge after making a video record of an incident of police abuse.
