OPDC is the largest retail-approved raw organic dairy product producer in North America. Its founder, Mark McAfee, is regarded by many in the industry as a foremost expert in raw milk safety, raw dairy products marketing and raw dairy technology. Mark is known for his industry leadership, political activism and dairy transparency. Mark was the first milk producer to ever post sensitive bacteria count numbers on a website for the world to see.
Mark was awarded the 2005 Weston A Price 2005 National Raw Milk Activist Award in Washington DC at the WAP national convention. Additionally, Mark was also the keynote speaker and addressed more than 1000 members of the WAP Foundation in recognition of his dedication and raw milk leadership and activism. In September 2006 Mark addressed more than one thousand attendees at the international Slow Foods Conference held in Melbourne Australia as the key note speaker on raw milk issues.
Most recently Mark has focused on creating a “compelling educational wave of interest” in raw milk by emphasizing the importance of the medical aspects of drinking raw milk and its healing effects on those with asthma. Mark also helped found the RAWUSA.ORG raw milk production standards. RAW USA.ORG was developed to assist raw milk producers in producing safe raw milk in order to educate consumers about these living and enlivened safe foods.
